Child Safety Standards

Last updated: June 8, 2026

YourLight is a presence-sharing app for connecting with people you already know. We are committed to the safety of everyone who uses YourLight, and we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards are published in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.

Zero Tolerance

We strictly prohibit any content, conduct, or use of YourLight that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child. This includes, without limitation:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
  • Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to sexualize, exploit, or endanger a minor.
  • Sharing, requesting, or facilitating access to such material or conduct.

How We Reduce Risk

YourLight is built around connections you choose, which limits exposure to strangers:

  • Connection-based by design — you share your presence only with friends and circles you explicitly choose. There is no public feed and no open discovery of strangers.
  • Audience controls — you decide who can see each Light.
  • Blocking — you can block any user at any time, which removes mutual visibility and interaction.
  • A minimal content surface — YourLight centers on simple presence signals and short text, not media feeds or open content sharing.

Reporting a Concern

If you encounter content or behavior that may harm a child, please report it to us immediately:

  • In the app — use Settings → Send Feedback to report a safety concern, and block the user involved.
  • By email — contact us at support@yourlight.me.

Reports of child safety concerns are treated as our highest priority.

How We Respond

  • We review reports of child safety concerns promptly.
  • We remove offending content and terminate the accounts of users who violate these standards.
  • Where we become aware of apparent CSAM, we preserve the relevant information and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the appropriate regional and national authorities, as required by law.

Legal Compliance

YourLight complies with applicable child safety laws and reporting obligations in the jurisdictions where it operates, including the mandatory reporting of CSAM to the relevant authorities.

Point of Contact

Our designated child safety point of contact can be reached at support@yourlight.me and is able to answer questions about our CSAE / CSAM prevention practices and compliance.
